It is a pleasure to write this review. As always, you have an open invitation for you and Bruno to come visit us.
Anytime a person travels to a different country searching for property and can not speak the native language, you must find someone to be your voice.
We found that person in Valerie Joie. Since she had lived in Florida for two years, she had the ability to understand ,quite easily, what we were searching for and expecting. Her ability to analyze our needs and her knowledge of the French property laws was invaluable to us.
The whole buying process was enjoyable and one year later we are still happy with our decision.
Purchasing our first gite and B&B property in France could have been very daunting had it not have been for Valerie. In the US a realtor sells you a property and you never see that person again. Knowing that we knew no one here, Valerie dedicated herself to insuring that we did not have such a difficult time getting situated. From arranging utilities to coordinating meetings with different artisans, she was always there to help us.
We did the necessary remodels and opened our Gite business in July of 2010. Since our grand opening with 3 gites and a B&B, we have had the joy of sharing our property with guests from 8 countries.
It has been a labor of love that has its rewards.

For some time we had dreamed of retiring to the South of France. In 2008, when we began closing our business commitments in Italy, we decided to look seriously for a property in Provence. We searched on the Internet and were fortunate to find Mme. Valérie Joie who could assist us and also speaks excellent English. We discussed our ideas regarding a house for us with the possibility of extra accommodation to rent out seasonally. We decided with her on a suitable price range within which she could carry out her search. She was in constant contact with us even though we were not in France.
Then in late 2009, she found us our dream home, which also has a separate guest house situated on the property close to the tiny, tranquil village of Sillans-la-Cascade (Var).
Once we had decided on purchasing this property, Valérie was extremely efficient and helpful with all aspects of house-buying in France, introducing us to the Notary, the HSBC Bank, Gan Insurance Company (M. Proust) whilst organising a property survey, which we had requested, plus the connections of electricity, water and telephone. When we needed a building company, primarily for the second house, she found us the excellent M. Lattughini and M. Lilli, the electrician.
We have only praise for Valérie’s assistance in finding our house; nothing was ever a problem and she conducted everything in a highly professional and correct manner thus ensuring that the trauma and difficulties of buying a property and then moving to a foreign country were simplified .
We finally signed the Act of Sale for the house in April 2010 and have been living here since then.

We are extremely happy in our new abode and will always be indebted to Valérie for her labours.
