Mourillon Toulon

Cote d’Azur is a popular destination for both the French and foreign visitor. Not surprisingly access to the Cote d’Azur is very good. In the summer the coast is heaving with visitors so travel by road can be slow.

International Airports
Many long haul visitors may have to fly into the airports at Charles de Gaulle or Orly around Paris. There are good onward connections to the airports on the Cote d’Azur. Instead of flying south you can take the high speed train (HGV) to the coast.

HGV Train
High speed TGV trains are the fastest way to travel around France (and beyond into Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Germany and Italy). With fares from Paris to over 150 destinations starting from as little as just £11, travel via the HGV is fun. Catch the TGV Méditerranée – links Paris to destinations in the south and southeast of France like Aix en Provence, Dijon, Avignon, Nice and Marseille.

AutoRoutes
France’s network of Autoroutes is extensive. So the Brits can easily get on the autoroute Calais or Boulogne and head south. Bear in mind that the beginning of July and the end of August are very busy. It seems that all the French have moved south (or back North) at the same time!
